history

H.E.L.P. (Haskell Endangered Legacy Project) was founded in 2001 in order to ensure and document the legacies of historic "non-federally" recognized tribes who attended the federal and closely related mission Indian boarding schools in the United States such as Carlisle, Hampton, Haskell, Bacone, Cherokee, Choctaw Central, Chilocco and others. Since 2009, the project has been providing awards and college scholarship opportunities which are open to members of these tribes.
