The Meghan Harbuck Overstreet Memorial Scholarship is a one-time scholarship for a currently enrolled university or junior college student who is a tribal member or direct descendant of a tribal member of the MOWA Band of Choctaw Indians. To apply for this scholarship the following three items must be completed and emailed to helphaskell@hotmail.com no later than September 1st, 2019.

1.       Proof of tribal enrollment with the MOWA Band of Choctaw Indians (a parent or grandparent's tribal enrollment card can be utilized if you are not currently enrolled with the tribe)

2.       Copy of current university or junior college class schedule for Fall 2019

3.       A one page essay about Meghan’s life and the impact she left on the world

All submissions will have an equal chance of receiving this scholarship as Meghan’s oldest son will be selecting one name randomly from a hat from all those who have completed the three items.  This selection will be done by him at the 2019 MOWA Choctaw Powwow.  We strongly recommend ALL MOWA Choctaw currently attending university or junior college to submit for this opportunity.  The award will be minimally in the amount of $1,000.
